A Port Douglas rainforest retreat, designed by Sergio Villa Mobilitaly, at 26 Island Point Road in Port Douglas for sale by Ray White Port Douglas’ Mark Flinn.
A Port Douglas rainforest retreat, designed by Sergio Villa Mobilitaly, is turning heads for its seamless blend of tropical minimalism, luxury Italian craftsmanship, and deep connection to nature.
The home at 26 Island Point Road in Port Douglas has already clocked over one million views on the Million Dollar Home’s Instagram page, making it one of the platform’s most-watched properties.
The north Queensland retreat is currently on the market through an expressions of interest campaign closing May 1 with Ray White Port Douglas’ Mark Flinn. The home’s $5.3 million-plus price guide reflects its tropical paradise location and high-end design credentials.

In collaboration with Sergio Villa’s design house, Sergio Villa Mobilitaly, the vision for the home centred on creating a calm, sculptural sanctuary that felt part of the landscape. It began with a white, clean base to create a peaceful feeling, then handcrafted, organic elements that reflected the natural beauty outside were added.
“This still allows the next owner to put their own stamp on the home by simply changing furnishings in the future,” sales agent Mark Flinn said.
Design cues came from a combination of luxury eco-retreats and Italy’s grand hotels of Positano and Capri, with a focus on refined simplicity and connection to place.
“The aim was to create a calm, luxurious escape without any flashiness or overdesign. The result is an atmosphere that’s timeless, relaxing, and effortless. There’s a sense of refined simplicity, everything has a purpose and a place, but there’s still room to breathe,” said Mark Flynn.

Handmade Murano glass ceilings and light fittings feature in the kitchen, staircase, and dining areas. Other highlights include a white leather suede lounge by Longhi Fratelli Italy, hand woven rugs by Jenny Morrison, and imported outdoor furniture. Every piece of furniture was handmade and hand-painted by the renowned Italian designer specifically for the space.
“The pieces are artworks in themselves, but they were created with the environment in mind,” Mark said. “The Murano glass lights are a perfect example, handmade, sculptural, but soft and ethereal.”

The pool deck is private and elevated, surrounded by treetops with views of the ocean, Four Mile Beach, the yacht marina, and distant mountains. The home also features an outdoor kitchen, commercial refrigeration, and ice makers for those who love to entertain.
“It’s quiet, peaceful, and there’s often a breeze that moves through the home. You can feel completely immersed in the rainforest. For the next owner, whether they’re swimming, doing yoga, or just lying on a sun lounge, it’s where they can truly switch off,” Mark said.
The garden features over 1,500 tropical species, including hundreds of orchids, mango trees, and other fruit trees. A full irrigation system was also installed to keep the lush landscape thriving.
“It’s a garden you can wander through and get lost in, with something new blooming all the time. It’s a real wild Daintree forest with fruit trees and mango trees,” Mark said.

The location and sense of seclusion have been a major drawcard for buyers. Mark said the home would appeal to a high-net-worth individual or couple seeking a peaceful, design-focused sanctuary to either holiday or live in full-time.
“It’s the idea that you could feel completely immersed in nature, surrounded by your own rainforest with no neighbours in sight, but still be just five minutes’ walk from the beach, the shops, and some of the best restaurants in town,” he said.

“The fact that you can do all of that without ever needing to get in a car is rare. That balance, between seclusion and connection, is what makes this place so special.
“It’s a home where you can completely disconnect, but also walk down the hill and be surrounded by great restaurants, the marina, and boutique shops. It’s for someone who wants it all, or to entertain in privacy.
“We’ve received significant international interest, particularly from buyers in the Middle East looking for a holiday home.”
